DMH.502 Collaboration in Mental Health Support

Aim:

Module 2 explores the development of Mental Health strategies. Module 2 introduces the concept of collaboration practice using recognised Māori health models that provide a Te Ao Māori perspective.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Select, develop, and apply Mental Health strategies which promote collaborative Whakawhānaungatanga (the process of establishing relations) and kaiwhakatere (the use of navigator or leadership) based approaches to support mental health clients.
  • Provide collaborative mental support practices using applicable mental health support services while considering the wider political and economic factors which impact the health and well-being sector in New Zealand.
  • Select, justify, and apply collaborative relationship-building approaches using Te Wheke informed practices to support identified health and well-being aspirations of family/whānau.
