DDR 506 Professional Competency

Aim:

Module 6 focuses on the demographic factors impacting the client’s need for Mental Health Support. Using analysis and comparison of Māori and Pasifika health models it provides the opportunity to enhance professional competence in the delivery of mental health support.

Learning Outcomes:

• Analyse the diverse demographic factors impacting the health and well-being of the client to improve professional competence.
• Develop a framework including diverse demographic factors to identify and mitigate client health and well-being needs and aspirations.
• Select strategies to gain insights, social awareness and knowledge related to cultural norms, behaviours, and communication expectations of the client.
